Students at Sorrento Primary School seek to achieve academic excellence through comprehensive, creative, challenging and responsive learning programmes. In 2011 The Australian Curriculum was introduced and implemented in English, Mathematics, Science and History. Students also undertake programmes in the following learning areas; Technology and Enterprise, Health and Physical Education, French, Visual Arts and Music.
The Western Australian Curriculum encompasses the Australian Curriculum, setting out the knowledge, understandings, skills, values and attitudes that students are expected to acquire. The curriculum has a twenty-first century focus. It is the base for future learning, growth and active participation in the Australian community.

Our Physical Education specialist teaches from Years 1 to 6, and offers many extra-curricular sporting opportunities.
Our music program operates from Years 1 to 6 under the guidance of our specialist music teacher.
A well-resourced, dedicated science specialist works with Years 1 to 6 students.
Our contemporary Languages program operates for students from Year 2 to Year 6.
Our instrumental program is available for selected Year 5 and 6 students on-site through SIMS.
Available to selected academically talented students from both Yrs 1-3 (Early Years) and Yrs 4-6.
